Paralegal Investigator (Part-Time / On-Site)

Location: Phoenix, AZ (On-Site – Phoenix, AZ 85007)

Job Type: Contract / Staff Augmentation (Part-Time: 25 hrs/week)

Contract Duration: ~4 Months (Projected Start: August 17, 2026 – December 18, 2026)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Pay Rate: Up to $26.00/hour (DOE)

Job Summary

SunSoftOnline is seeking a Paralegal Investigator to assist section attorneys with legal research, case organization, court filings, and legislative tracking within administrative, state, and federal courts on behalf of the Arizona Attorney General's Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Litigation & Research: Conduct legal research for litigation cases and official opinions; review, manage, and index litigation documents and statutes.

  • Document Drafting: Draft legal pleadings, briefs, reports, and complex correspondence in established formats.

  • Docketing & Calendaring: Calendar and docket all court appearances, hearings, and depositions in Legal Files and Outlook.

  • Legislative Tracking: Monitor, track, and research proposed legislation and state/federal statutory updates.

  • Investigative Support: Interview witnesses and contacts to elicit information pertinent to legal investigations.

  • Administrative Support: Receive and screen correspondence, calls, and visitors with tact and diplomacy.

Knowledge, Skills & Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on Paralegal experience.

  • Local Candidate: Must currently reside in the Phoenix metro area (current location must be explicitly listed on resume).

  • Court Procedures: Familiarity with filing requirements, rules, and procedures across Arizona State and federal courts.

  • Technical Skills: Strong word processing skills, legal research tools, and proficiency with Outlook/Legal Files calendaring.

  • Travel: Ability to travel within and outside Arizona, including occasional overnight stays.
