To thrive as a Part Time Open Source Developer, you need a strong grasp of programming languages (such as Python, JavaScript, or C++), version control systems like Git, and a proven record of contributing to open source projects. Familiarity with collaborative platforms like GitHub, issue tracking systems, and experience with CI/CD tools are typically required. What is a Part Time Open Source Developer?

A Part Time Open Source Developer is a software developer who contributes to open source projects while working less than full-time hours. They typically write, review, and maintain code for public software projects, collaborating with global communities. Often, these developers split their time between open source contributions and other professional or personal commitments. Their work helps improve software that is freely available to anyone, and they can be paid or volunteer-based.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time open source developers and how can they be addressed?

Part-time open source developers often encounter challenges such as managing time effectively between their primary job, personal life, and open source contributions. Additionally, staying updated with project changes and communicating asynchronously with global collaborators can be difficult. To address these issues, it's helpful to set clear boundaries for contribution hours, regularly check project communication channels, and use project management tools to keep track of tasks. Building relationships within the community and seeking mentorship can also enhance collaboration and learning opportunities.

All Source Analyst
The Opportunity:
As an all-source analyst, you understand the constant drive to seek out better, more accurate information to support national security. In today's data-saturated environment-defined by rapidly expanding data streams, advanced connectivity, and vast storage-the challenge is no longer collecting information but transforming it into meaningful intelligence. Your role is critical: applying structured tradecraft, analytical rigor, and a problem-solving mindset to identify reliable sources, extract relevant details, and convert raw data into actionable insights. With your background in MIDB and all-source methodologies, you bring the expertise needed to turn complex datasets into intelligence that supports strategic and operational decision-making.
In this position, you leverage your experience with creating effective queries, integrating disparate data sources, and maintaining the accuracy of foundational intelligence databases. You apply specialized subject-matter knowledge, use structured analytic techniques, and collaborate with mission partners to ensure a shared understanding of the operational environment. Your work spans everything from analyzing INTs, open-source information, and law enforcement data to producing tailored intelligence products-from tactical leads to comprehensive written assessments and high-level briefings. As part of a team committed to growth and excellence, you continue to refine your skills, mentor others, and contribute to delivering the right intelligence at the right time to policymakers and operational stakeholders.
Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
  • Experience conducting all-source analytic production.
  • Experience in order of battle analysis and systems, including with MIDB or MARS
  • Experience in all-source analytic tradecraft, including ICD 203 and ICD 206 standards and DIA writing style
  • Experience collaborating with mission partners on production efforts and delivering lead briefings during key events
  • Ability to apply and query SIGINT, GEOINT, OSINT, and HUMINT datasets and databases
  • Ability to independently produce high-quality, tailored intelligence deliverables-such as actionable leads, ICD-compliant written products, network charts, and formal or informal briefings
  • Ability to rapidly adapt to shifting mission requirements and deliver accurate products under tight timelines
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in intelligence, or 12+ years of experience in intelligence in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience conducting all-source analysis on CWMD programs, including WMD threats, missile and delivery systems, advanced weapons, CBRNE, counterterrorism, and related military activities
  • Experience leveraging data analytics, analytic methodologies, and visualization tools to enhance assessments
  • Knowledge of nuclear weapons programs, including weapons effects, the nuclear fuel cycle, and nuclear infrastructure

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
