BCCS is seeking a Part-Time Safety Officer for our Georgetown location!

Since 1985, Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, Inc. (BCCS) has been a trusted provider of outstanding substance abuse and behavioral health treatment. BCCS is a community organization that prides itself on helping members of our community recover with dignity. We enhance the quality of life by creatively providing Education, Advocacy, Prevention, Early Intervention, and Treatment Services. We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV and multiple occurring diagnoses, and their related challenges.
As a Safety Officer with BCCS, you will:
โ€ข Maintain safety, including techniques to address disruptive, uncooperative persons
โ€ข Follow policies and procedures established
โ€ข Follow policies and procedures established by BCCS; visible to staff, offering support and modeling service behaviors and concern resolution process.
โ€ข Provide Crisis intervention
โ€ข Respond to urgent or emergency situations in a way that minimizes trauma to the client and staff members and results in stabilization.
โ€ข Patrol building and parking lots to prevent loitering, unauthorized parking and smoking
โ€ข Direct traffic safely in BCCS parking lots
โ€ข Monitor parking lots, BCCS grounds, and buildings to ensure safety
โ€ข Assist handicapped clients to enter clinic when necessary.
โ€ข Keep order and maintains an orderly line in dispensing
โ€ข Assist nurses in the event of a client incident.
โ€ข Assist with maintaining safe and clean grounds
โ€ข Write incident reports
โ€ข Provide assistance to unruly, uncooperative and disruptive clients from premises.
โ€ข Assist with snow and ice removal when necessary to ensure business parameter is safe.
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
โ€ข Client Contact and Responsibilities
โ€ข The Safety Officer maintains daily contact with clients in an effort to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Requirements
Qualifications for this position are:
โ€ข HS diploma or GED OR 5 years of verified work experience is Required
โ€ข PREFERRED : 1 year experience in the Drug and Alcohol Field
โ€ข PREFERRED : 1 year de-escalation experience
โ€ข This position requires the ability to stand for the length of the shift and to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Schedule:
โ€ข Monday - Thursday from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
โ€ข Every other Saturday morning from 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Salary
โ€ข Starting at $17/hr.
โ€ข Commensurate with experience
