Center Associate – The UPS Store

Position Type: Part-Time / Full-Time Reports To: Store Manager / Owner

About the Role

Are you a people person who loves helping others and staying busy? The UPS Store is looking for an enthusiastic Center Associate to join our team! You'll be the friendly face our customers count on every day — helping them ship packages, tackle printing projects, and handle all kinds of business needs. If you enjoy a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, we'd love to meet you!

What You'll Do

Shipping & Receiving

  • Help customers send and receive packages through all major carriers (UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL)
  • Guide customers to the best shipping options for their budget and timeline
  • Accurately weigh, label, and process packages with care
  • Handle freight shipments and make returns a breeze

Customer Service

  • Welcome every customer with a warm smile and a can-do attitude
  • Listen carefully and offer friendly, knowledgeable recommendations
  • Turn any hiccups into great customer experiences
  • Keep the store clean, organized, and inviting for everyone who walks in

Print & Business Services

  • Bring customers' print projects to life — copying, scanning, laminating, and more
  • Help with document formatting and finishing so everything looks just right
  • Deliver orders accurately and on time, every time
  • Suggest helpful products and services customers might not know they need

Mailbox & Notary Services

  • Manage mailboxes and make sure customers know when their packages arrive
  • Offer notary services (if licensed/commissioned)
  • Snap professional passport photos

Point of Sale & Administrative

  • Handle transactions with accuracy and a smile
  • Follow cash-handling procedures and balance the drawer with confidence
  • Keep shelves stocked and supplies organized
  • Help open and close the store as needed

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of customer service or retail experience (preferred, but we're willing to train the right person!)
  • A natural communicator who enjoys working with people
  • Comfortable with basic computer tasks like email and MS Office

  • Dependable, punctual, and a true team player
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet throughout a shift
