Job Description
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Provide theory and clinical instruction for Associate Degree Nursing Program in the areas of Nursing. Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of the total nursing curriculum. Serve as a liaison between health agencies and the College. Will be assigned to teach in the ADN Nursing Program at the various campuses. Familiarity with online and interactive TV instruction desired.

Required Qualifications
CREDENTIAL: Hold a current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse and be free from any disciplinary action by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications for instructors in Nursing required by the Board of Registered Nursing:
(1) A master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university in nursing;
OR
Bachelor's in nursing
AND
Master's in health education or health science
OR the equivalent
(Must apply through YCCD's Equivalency Application Process).
OR the minimum qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing, whichever is higher;
AND (2) Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which he or she is assigned, which can be met by:
(A) One (1) year's continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area;
OR(B) One (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency.
Assistant Instructor:
- A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college which shall include courses in nursing, or in a natural, behavioral or social science relevant to nursing practice;
- Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which he or she is assigned, which can be met by: (A) One (1) year's continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area; or (B) One (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency.
Clinical Teaching Assistant:
- A clinical teaching assistant shall have at least one (1) year continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience in the designated nursing area within the previous five years (5) as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
REQUIRED DUTIES:
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.
Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.
