Opportunities to Contribute

  • Performs comprehensive examinations, diagnoses acute, chronic, and urgent primary care conditions, formulates therapeutic plans, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, manages medications, and educates patients and families.

  • Coordinates patient care to ensure safe, effective, efficient, and timely care, liaises between clinical staff and consult services, and consults with physicians and healthcare team members.

  • Orders and evaluates effectiveness of therapeutic modalities, performs primary care procedures, and provides health maintenance including immunizations and screenings.

  • Counsels and instructs patients and significant others on medications, diseases, procedures, and preventive healthcare, assesses and stabilizes emergent conditions, and determines patient disposition.

  • Serves as a clinical resource through consultation, education, literature review, and participation in seminars and simulations, documents clinical encounters, and performs follow-up care.

  • Applies, models, and teaches evidence-based treatment and care, precepts nursing students, promotes cost savings and optimal patient experience, and participates in continuous process improvement, data reporting, and scholarly projects.

  • Serves on committees, provides presentations, and participates in staff development.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • One year directly related experience serving as a family nurse practitioner.

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Requires an active license as a Registered Nurse and as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner, in the state of Texas with prescriptive authority and national board certification as a family nurse practitioner.

A well-qualified candidate will also possess

  • At least five years of clinical nursing experience is required.

  • American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate.

  • Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and electronic health records, some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

  • Experience in health professions education is preferred.

  • Familiarity with electronic health records

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Knowledge of standard nursing procedures and techniques.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

What You Need to Know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire's education and experience.

Location/Schedule: Crockett, Texas or Bryan, Texas locations. This is a part time PRN position with the hours of 8a-5p. The days of the week vary depending on the need of the clinic and candidate availability.

Other: Depending upon the nature of your position, you may be required to receive immunizations (excluding COVID and Flu).
