Job description

As an Registered Nurse (RN) at Black Hills Special Services Cooperative, you'll play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities by coordinating their medical care and helping them achieve personal health goals and needs. You'll manage caseloads, monitor medications and treatments, and collaborate with direct support staff and healthcare providers to ensure timely, person-centered care. This position is ideal for a licensed RN who is organized, communicative, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of others through compassionate nursing and thoughtful case management.

Black Hills Special Services Cooperative (BHSSC) is a public entity that is an educational cooperative under the State of South Dakota. BHSSC is comprised of five divisions dedicated to aiding school districts, individuals, and the communities.

Wage-
$33.00-$36.00 per hour based on experience

Part-Time, Non-exempt (approximately 20-29.75 hours weekly)

Job Description-

  • Maintain a high level of awareness of the health and medical goals and needs of each person supported
  • Provide support needed to meet routine and emergency medical and health needs, adapting care to fit the
  • Respond promptly to questions and communications from direct support staff and others who need to know healthcare-related information
  • Ensure adequate supply of medication, enteral nutrition and medical supplies are always available for each person supported when
  • Monitor follow-up on recommendations and orders from medical
  • Respond to health-related communications from day and residential staff
  • Use the online documentation system platform as required by DD Division in
  • Maintain current medical files, as dictated by licensing standards, and ensure that documentation is current. Maintain current immunization
  • Complete Health Care reports on Therap for people supported
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Qualifications-

  • Current valid South Dakota nursing license
  • Current valid drivers' license
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Ability to pass criminal records check, background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Organizational and communication skills and the ability to self-motivate.
