Do you want to make a positive difference in the lives of youth? If yes, join the great team of people at Koinonia Family Services in our After School Day Treatment Program in Reno. We are hiring a part-time Mental Health Technician to support youth 9-18 who exhibit behavioral and emotional difficulties associated with a variety of mental health diagnoses.ย 

The Mental Health Technician opportunity includes:

  • A great chance to support kids who have experienced trauma
  • Hourly pay rate: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Benefits include paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, and participation in our 401k plan
  • 28 hours per week Monday through Friday
  • Enhance your knowledge and skills by working alongside veteran licensed professionals to learn cutting edge, evidence-based treatment modalities
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, HDFS or a closely related field required

    You will provide behavioral management and case work services to youth in the after-school day treatment setting. With the support of caring and qualified clinicians, you will:

    • Provide a full range of interventions including behavioral management, interpersonal effectiveness skills, interventions with schools and parents, family support and training, community transition, and self-management
    • Plan and co-lead psycho-educational groups
    • Maintain case files for each assigned youth
    • The opportunities to connect with youth continue as you transport them to and from the afternoon day treatment program daily. A reliable vehicle, auto insurance, good driving record and a big heart is required
