Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting care in accordance with professional nursing standards and organizational policies. The RN collaborates with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to deliver safe, evidence-based care, educate patients and families, and ensure positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' physical, emotional, social, cultural, and educational needs.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans, including discharge planning.
  • Provide direct patient care, administer treatments, and monitor patient progress.
  • Communicate patient status and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and recovery.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and professional development.
  • May serve as relief charge nurse when assigned.
  • Follow all organizational policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety practices.
Qualifications

Education

  • Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or higher

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU, ICU, or Emergency Department (full-time/part-time)
  • New graduate RNs may qualify by successfully completing the Perianesthesia Academy within 4 months
  • PRN nurses require a minimum of 2 years of PreOp/PACU RN experience
  • PreOp/PACU nursing experience strongly preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current RN license (state-specific or compact license, as applicable)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • PALS certification required within 90 days of hire if assigned to pediatric ASC services
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 75 lbs.), and assist with patient mobility
  • Ability to work in a direct patient care environment with exposure to blood and bodily fluids
  • Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
