Job description

Sphere Entertainment Co. is a leader in immersive experiences, technology and media. The Company includes Sphere, an experiential medium powered by advanced technologies. The first Sphere opened in Las Vegas, with a second venue planned for Abu Dhabi. In addition, the Company includes MSG Networks, which operates two regional sports and entertainment networks, MSG Network and MSG Sportsnet, as well as a direct-to-consumer and authenticated streaming product, MSG+, delivering a wide range of live sports content and other programming. Who are we hiring?
The Laborer/Utility Worker position is responsible for preparing the Sphere for all events. Main tasks include event set-up, tear down, changeovers and daily operational work related to immersion experiences. The Utility position will also assist with assembly of furniture, pickups, deliveries, movement of various equipment, and minor repairs to walls, ceilings, doors, and equipment as directed.
What will you do?
  • The primary responsibility for this position includes the physical setup of all areas around the venue related to daily show preparation and preventive maintenance, ensuring all safety procedures and guidelines are being met.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and professional working environment; organize assigned storage areas and maintain supplies throughout the venue.
  • Actively care for all venue equipment with proper storage, cleaning and repairs when needed.
  • The utility worker is responsible as part of a team of utility workers for physically lifting and building stages and seating sections.
  • Oversees and inspects the safety of all front-of-house event related equipment to ensure patron safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

What do you need to succeed?
  • Must be able to drive golf carts and cargo vans.
  • Should have prior experience working with tools in order to assist with furniture assembly, minor equipment repair, drywall repairs, and painting as needed.
  • Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure, be able to resolve set-up issues promptly, and have previous knowledge of the concert, events, and sports arena operations.
  • A high level of energy and commitment with strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Special Requirements
  • General physical requirements such as lifting 50+ lbs., standing for long periods, walking long distances, bending and constant motion is often required.
  • May be exposed to theatrical smoke, strobe lights, pyrotechnics, intense sound, rapid motion video effects, smoke, and odors
  • May be deployed to outdoor posts that may be exposed to triple-digit temperatures, UV rays, high winds, or monsoon weather. Appropriate hydration, PPE, and sun protection will be provided.
  • May have outdoor and UV exposure
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, overnights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Required to have completed the OSHA 10-Hour training course.
