Must be able to attend meetings and trainings on short notice as well as teach courses in person, as necessary. Duties and Responsibilities: Under general supervision, conduct lecture and as appropriate, laboratory courses in the discipline

May include instructional assignment involving distance education. Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught. Possible evening, weekend and off-campus assignments.

Conduct student evaluations of teaching effectiveness. Participate in assessment of course learning outcomes. Adhere to all due dates, including the online submission of grades.

Minimum Qualifications: Functionally native oral and written fluency in Japanese, the ability to communicate in English, and one of the following: (a) Master's degree in Japanese (language or literature); (b) OR Master's degree in Japanese as a Second Language; (c) OR Master's degree in the study of the culture or history of the people who speak Japanese; (d) OR Master's degree in Linguistics, ESL, Education or another language. At least 12 credits of advanced coursework in second language methodology, Japanese literature, Japanese culture, or any combination thereof. If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered.

Desirable Qualifications: Willingness to work with Running Start and Early College programs and pass required additional screening as necessary. Demonstrated commitment and/or experience supporting the success of students.
