Position Title Adjunct Faculty, Foreign Language, Japanese Department 211810 - Global Languages,Literature&Perspec and Art
Position Description/Posting Details
Posting Number A0140P Position Summary
The Department of Global Languages, Literatures, and Perspectives on our main campus is seeking a part-time adjunct instructor to teach elementary Japanese courses.
Essential Duties
Prepare meaningful lectures and class activities for the full duration of the published class time for each class period according to academic calendar.
Create a syllabus that meets the Provost's Syllabus Checklist requirements.
Create assessment activities that support the stated learning outcomes for the course.
Address student questions in a timely and helpful manner.
Use Canvas and other technology to enhance student learning.
Support and follow University policies and procedures as well as those for the department.
Attend faculty meetings.
Submit grades and materials for assessment projects on or before stated deadlines.
Communicate student concerns with personnel in the department.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Japanese or related field.
Native or near native fluency in Japanese and English
Able to teach fall, spring or summer
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Japanese or related field.
Experience in teaching college level Japanese.
Experience using technology is a plus
