Job description

Department
The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art is located in Sarasota, Florida, and is a department of Florida State University.
Responsibilities
Overnight Museum Attendants patrol The Ringling's 66-acre campus on foot and with golf carts.
This role is responsible for:
  • Conducting nightly inspections of assigned areas
  • Assisting with urgent/emergency situations in a calm and timely manner.
  • Protecting the collection, buildings, and grounds including guarding against theft, vandalism, other damage, and the safety of those on the property.
  • Utilizing computers to write reports, check emails, send correspondences, and submit work orders as needed.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Florida driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
  • Ability to:
    • Stand and walk for long periods
    • Ascend/descend stairs
    • Work in all types of weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
  • Working in security
  • Providing customer service
  • Working in a museum or non-profit setting
Ability to:
  • Ability to promote a welcoming environment

Anticipated Salary Range
$16.48 per hour (28 hours a week)
