Job description

Salary: $31.00 - $45.00 per hour DOE

Part-Time Certified Physical Therapist - Tucson Campus (KG- 3rd & 6th-12th Grade)

Under the direction of the Tucson Campus Director, the Physical Therapist will conduct screenings diagnostic assessments or evaluations through various data collection methods; participate in team evaluations, write goals and objectives, as appropriate for Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs); maintain required documentation for Medicaid reimbursement and legal compliance; provide consultation to parents, administrators, teachers and related staff personnel; and provide Physical Therapy services through a range of service delivery models.


Duties:

  • Part-time position
  • Assess and implement physical therapy needs for students.
  • Develops treatment plans, interventions, and/or educational materials for the purpose of meeting individualized student objectives and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Screens students to determine the need for further individualized assessment.
  • Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel, and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services, and/or making recommendations and/or referrals.
  • Facilitates and/or attends meetings (e.g., IEP/MET/Team conferences, parent meetings, in-services, site meetings, etc.) for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding a students functional goals.
  • Assess students to identify eligibility and IEP needs.
  • Follow school-wide systems, rules, and positive behavior interventions.
  • Support the delivery of services in a classroom integration model.
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families.
  • Responsible for paperwork compliance with data collections relating to IEP goals.
  • Accountability for growth and proficiency on IEP goals.
  • Participate in annual and ongoing staff training.
  • Complete any appropriate Medicaid billing and documentation.
  • Write PT goals and progress monitoring data for students' IEPs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering services in a school setting, in a classroom integration model preferred
  • Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Minimum of two years PT experience in a school setting preferred
  • Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred


Required:

  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Master's Degree or higher
  • Valid license with the AZ Board of Physical Therapy Examiners


ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.


Light Work:

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.


Working Conditions:

Work is routinely performed in an indoor classroom environment.
