Job Title: E-Commerce Marketing Lead Commitment: Part-Time, Freelance Location: Remote or San Diego Office Commitment: 10-20 hours per week (flexible) We're looking for a seasoned Shopify E-commerce Marketing Expert to help scale one or more consumer brands by optimizing the full Shopify ecosystem-from acquisition through retention. This is a hands-on, strategic fractional freelance role for someone who understands not just what to do, but which tools to use inside Shopify to maximize revenue, performance, and long-term growth. This role offers meaningful strategic influence paired with hands-on execution, with the opportunity to build, optimize, and continuously improve a best-in-class Shopify ecosystem. You'll collaborate closely with marketing, creative, and web development partners to recommend, implement, test, and refine the plugins, integrations, and workflows that drive conversion, AOV, retention, and lifetime value. This role is ideal for someone who brings both strategic perspective and operational depth. Someone who can confidently evaluate Shopify apps and integrations, make smart recommendations and work collaboratively to bring them to life. While the position is part-time, there is an opportunity for a long-term/full-time role as the brands scale. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Own and optimize the Shopify storefront experience to drive conversion rate, AOV, and LTV
  • Build and execute e-commerce marketing strategies across paid, owned, and lifecycle channels
  • Manage and optimize paid media (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.) in support of Shopify revenue alongside ad strategy and ad tech leads
  • Lead email & SMS lifecycle strategy (Klaviyo): welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, winback subscriptions
  • Evaluate, recommend and optimize Shopify apps and plugins to maximize revenue, including:
    • Subscriptions
    • Upsells / cross-sells
    • Bundles
    • Reviews & UGC
    • Loyalty & referrals
    • On-site personalization & CRO tools
  • Partner with the web and development team to:
    • Recommend best-in-class tools and integrations
    • Support implementation and QA
    • Define testing plans and success metrics
    • Iterate based on performance data
  • Optimize product pages, collections and funnels with a CRO-first mindset
  • Support product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns
  • Analyze and report on key performance metrics: ROAS, MER, CAC, AOV, LTV, conversion rate
Requirements
  • 4+ years of hands-on Shopify e-commerce marketing experience
  • Demonstrated experience selecting, implementing, and optimizing Shopify plugins/apps that drive revenue
  • Proven track record growing DTC e-commerce brands
  • Strong understanding of paid media performance in a Shopify environment
  • Deep experience with Klaviyo or comparable ESPs
  • Fluent in CRO, funnel optimization, and on-site merchandising
  • Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, design, web and social teams
  • Data-driven, proactive, and confident making clear recommendations
  • Experience with Shopify Plus
  • Background in subscriptions or repeat-purchase businesses
  • Familiarity with influencer, affiliate, or ambassador programs, a plus
  • Experience working with early-stage or scaling consumer brands, a plus
