While both roles focus on skincare and aesthetic treatments, a Part Time Medical Spa typically requires medical certifications and involves procedures like Botox or laser treatments in healthcare settings. A Part Time Aesthetician mainly performs skincare services such as facials and waxing in beauty salons. The roles differ mainly in credentials, scope of practice, and work environment, but both are essential in the aesthetic industry.

Familiarity with specialized equipment like lasers, IPL devices, and booking or EMR systems is typically required, along with certifications in procedures such as injectables or laser therapy. Exceptional customer service, professionalism, and strong interpersonal communication skills make someone stand out in this role. These skills ensure client safety, satisfaction, and the efficient operation of the medical spa environment.

You may also be responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, handling administrative tasks like phone calls and appointment bookings, and staying knowledgeable about skincare products and services. Working in a team-oriented environment is common, and you’ll frequently collaborate with estheticians, nurses, and front desk staff to ensure a smooth client experience. Flexibility and strong communication skills are essential, as schedules may vary based on client demand.
