WHAT YOUโ€™LL DO

Our Carson Client Service Representative plays an important role in advancing Nevada Humane Societyโ€™s mission.

As a Client Services Representative you contribute to Nevada Humane Societyโ€™s (NHS) mission by serving as first point of contact for the public, providing compassionate, professional and empathetic customer service that shapes each personโ€™s experience and builds lifelong connections with our community. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to scheduling and processing services such as Humane Enforcement Dispatch, and data entry, animal surrenders, adoptions, and clinical appointments, while collaborating with coworkers, volunteers and other departments. Your role upholds and supports our values of building the human-animal bond, creating warm and positive experiences, strengthening community connections, and making service accessible- reflecting on our commitment to care for pets, find them homes and save lives.

Essential ResponsibilitiesPosition-Specific Responsibilities
  1. Greet and assist all customers in a positive and helpful manner.
  2. Promptly answer telephone calls and direct calls to the proper destination.
  3. Respond to email correspondence in a professional and timely manner.
  4. Provide information to the public regarding NHS programs and services or other animal related matters.
  5. Assist the community with scheduling surrender appointments and providing resources to keep animals in the home.
  6. Handle the surrender and reclaim of animals through the shelter ensuring that all proper documentation has been completed.
  7. Perform intake exams that include checking for signs of pain or discomfort, as well as drawing up and administering vaccines and dewormers.
  8. Assist and counsel potential adopters and complete the adoption process.
  9. Assist customers with other NHS programs and services including but not limited to trap rentals, pet food assistance, etc.
  10. Maintain the integrity of data in animal software system, ensuring animal intakes and dispositions are recorded accurately.
  11. Assist with merchandise sales and other related duties.
  12. Log donations as needed.
  13. Assist with training volunteers in related work areas.
  14. Responsible for keeping relevant work areas clean and organized.
  15. Maintain and promote a positive public image standard relevant to NHS.
  16. Assist with off-site organization and adoption events throughout the community.
  17. Care for and handle animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, and others.
  18. Issue dog licenses, collect fees, and ensure all proper documentation has been completed
  19. Assist Carson Clinic with scheduling appointments and services.
  20. Assist Carson Clinic with running events such as vaccine clinics and post adoption vet appointments.
  21. Communicate and dispatch animal control officers to animal related cases within the community.
