Job description

Mass General Brigham Medical Group (MGB MG) is seeking an experienced, Board-Certified Physician leader to serve as Medical Director, Express Care in the Pioneer Valley region of Massachusetts. This leadership role provides oversight of up to four Express Care centers across the Pioneer Valley region and plays a key role in advancing clinical excellence, operational performance, quality, safety, and strategic growth.

The Medical Director will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and operational leaders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting the continued expansion and development of our Urgent Care network.

What You'll Do

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for up to four MGB Medical Group Express Care locations.

  • Partner with operational and clinical leaders to advance quality, patient safety, patient experience, and performance.

  • Supervise and mentor Physicians, Lead APPs, and APPs.

  • Support provider recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development.

  • Develop and implement clinical policies, protocols, and best practices.

  • Monitor quality metrics, patient experience, and regulatory compliance.

  • Contribute to strategic planning, service line growth, budgeting, and operational initiatives.

  • Partner with Revenue Cycle and administrative teams to ensure documentation, coding, and billing compliance.

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

  • Completion of an accredited residency program.

  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine-Pediatrics.

  • Unrestricted Massachusetts medical license (or ability to obtain).

  • Current DEA certification.

  • Prior leadership experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or ambulatory care settings strongly preferred.

Schedule & Location

  • Full-time (70% clinical) & (30 % Administrative/leadership position).

  • Opportunity for Hybrid work model with potential flexibility to provide clinical and administrative support across multiple locations.

  • Monday through Friday schedule with occasional evenings, weekends, and extended hours as needed.

  • Current Express Care locations include: Northampton, Southampton, Amherst & Greenfield.

* Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 8:00pm

* Saturday & Sunday: 9:00am to 5:00pm

The salary range for this position is $285,000 to $313,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, education, and internal equity.
