Job Title: Medical Assistant

Position Type: Part Time - Monday-Wednesday availability required

Travel: Yes, regional travel as needed

Position Summary: The Medical Assistant supports Providers in delivering high-quality patient care while contributing to efficient clinic operations and a positive patient experience. This role requires strong clinical skills, professionalism, adaptability, teamwork, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Medical Assistants are expected to actively contribute to clinic workflow, maintain professionalism under pressure, communicate effectively with patients and coworkers, and support overall operational success.

This position may be scheduled for fewer than 40 hours per week based on operational needs and business requirements.

Role and Responsibilities

Clinical & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain examination and treatment rooms
  • Assist Providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
  • Obtain and document patient medical history, vitals, and clinical information accurately within the EMR
  • Collect, label, and process specimens appropriately
  • Perform diagnostic testing, as applicable
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by Providers (excluding controlled substances)
  • Process prescriptions and medication refill requests per Provider instructions
  • Initiate and process prior authorizations as assigned
  • Process incoming voicemails, messages, tasks, and faxes within expected timeframes
  • Maintain accurate medication, supply, and sample inventories
  • Monitor expiration dates and properly discard expired medications or samples
  • Maintain infection control and aseptic technique standards
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and maintain required logs
  • Assist with cleaning, organization, and overall maintenance of clinical areas
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, and company compliance standards at all times

  • Support efficient patient flow, room turnover, and Provider readiness
