Job description

Mechanical Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity:

Apply engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture, or maintenance of mechanical systems. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions. Operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision. Mentor or supervise employees in both firm and technical competencies.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in the design, development, implementation, and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery specific to high voltage RF transmitter systems or equipment designed for operations while exposed to high electromagnetic currents and fields

  • 10+ years of experience with 3D CAD modeling software

  • 5+ years of experience with FEA analysis

  • 5+ years of experience in the integration of HPM or pulsed power systems into land, air, or shipboard applications

  • Experience in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical components and systems

  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

  • Ability to provide modification recommendations and troubleshooting for RF, EMI, and high voltage technical issues

  • Ability to provide sound mechanical designs to fit within the required workspace

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or Technology

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with SolidWorks

  • Knowledge of the fabrication process to support the machining of custom-designed parts

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering a plus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
