Textile Materials Developer
The Opportunity:
As a Textile Materials Developer, you know that every successful clothing and footwear project relies on clearly defined processes and innovative approaches to achieving its goals. In this role, you'll help address material challenges or digital transformation gaps in clothing and footwear, bringing your expertise in textile properties, testing, and industry standards to create innovative, high-quality solutions that meet rigorous performance and quality benchmarks.
In this role, you'll draw on your strong data analytics skills and knowledge of textile engineering and materials science to address the unique challenges of the DoW. You'll work closely with team members to gain quantitative insights from current processes, propose enhancements, and implement solutions to meet the demands of an evolving industry. This versatile role requires a balance of creativity, adaptability, and technical expertise to tackle challenges in organizational clothing and individual equipment.

You Have:
  • Experience with industry trends and advancements in automated manufacturing processes
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (plm) systems for managing product design and development
  • Experience with technical product creation, including engineering, materials, manufacturing methods, and product testing
  • Experience implementing design for manufacturability practices in direct collaboration with tier 1 and 2 manufacturers
  • Experience translating client requirements to textile products
  • Knowledge of footwear or apparel construction, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to think strategically and make decisions grounded in technical depth
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including various forms of engineers
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Accumark, and Browzwear or CLO
  • Experience designing and manufacturing textile components for military products
  • Experience with knit garment design and development processes, including stitch mapping and yarn specification
  • Knowledge of pattern making, grading, and construction across a variety of product types, including apparel, footwear, soft goods, and individual equipment
  • Knowledge of government specifications such as p/ds, mil-dtls, and mil-prfs
  • Secret clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
