Description
The CE Adjunct Instructor- Plumbing & Mechanical is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating educational courses to licensed professionals in Iowa. These courses ensure compliance with state licensing requirements, advance technical skills, and promote safety and professional growth within the plumbing and mechanical trades.
Job Duties
  • Design courses in compliance with Iowa Plumbing and Mechanical Systems Board requirements.
  • Stay updated on state and national code changes, including the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) and International Mechanical Code (IMC)
  • Deliver engaging and informative training sessions, both in-person and online.
  • Ensure all courses meet the Iowa Department of Public Health's Criteria for continuing education units
  • Regularly update personal knowledge on advancements in plumbing, mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Help prepare and submit necessary paperwork to the Plumbing and Mechanical systems Board for course approval and reporting

Qualifications
  • Hold an Active Iowa Master or Journeyperson License in plumbing, mechanical or HVAC systems.
  • 3-5 years' teaching experience (preferred)
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • For Safety, current IOSHA card, train-the-trainer or instructor card, copy of safety-related degree or diploma
  • For code, copy of any license(s), evidence of having taught courses, evidence or current certification as an inspector or plans examiner, or evidence or other equivalent specialized training or education
  • For trade discipline(s), copy of any license(s), evidence of employment as a product representative with manufacturer training, evidence of having taught courses, or evidence or other equivalent specialized education or training
