What you will have an opportunity to do:

Be the warm and welcoming face of our hotel overnight! As a Part-Time member of the Hotel Night Auditor team at the Houston Marriott Westchase Hotel, you will combine your hotel front office experience to support overnight hotel accounting operations, including processing daily financial reports, handling guest check-ins and check-outs, balancing transactions, and ensuring a smooth overnight experience. We're looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys providing excellent guest service.

Scheduling: Requires ability to work 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM with no scheduling restrictions, including weekdays, weekends and holidays. Schedules may change weekly to meet business demands.

Additionally, the Night Auditor role includes, but not limited to:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by being engaging and taking sincere interest in the guest following Marriott brand guest service standards.
  • Enter and manage guest and staff communications in computer systems, update guest profiles, resolve concerns professionally, and document follow-up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Continuously maintain up-to-date knowledge on room availability, room types, available amenities, and rates, as well as available guest upgrade options.
  • Control and secure cash and cash equivalents for property according to cash handling policy and procedures.
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, and auditing spreadsheets and reports.
  • Audit and reconcile hotel financials including room charges, transactions, and revenue postings strictly adhering to established procedures.
  • Ensure all charges, including food, outlet passes, and liquor sales, are posted to guest account; computes bill, collect payment, and make change for requests.
  • Answer incoming and guest room calls using professional telephone etiquette.
  • Perform daily checklist and closing duties as required.
  • Maintain expected high standards for uniform and personal appearance.
  • This list is not all inclusive, additional job functions will be shared during interviews.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience working at a hotel or resort in a guest services and/or night auditor role is required; preferably at a full-service property.
  • Able to work overnight, 11 PM - 7:30 AM, with no scheduling restrictions; including weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to effectively communicate with guests and restaurant staff alike, both verbally and written, with empathy, patience, tact and professionalism.
  • Someone knowledgeable of accounting principles and ability to compute complex mathematical data; strong mathematical and calculator skills are a must.
  • Experience complex property management software systems, with ability to perform tasks in multiple computer systems, simultaneously.
  • Knowledgeable in basic MS Office programs Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to easily adapt to unexpected changes and prioritize tasks successfully in high-pressure situations with professionalism.
  • Positions self to raise, lower, and extend arms fully to perform essential job functions.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
