Part-Time Marketing & Community Engagement Assistant
Lake Stevens / Snohomish, WA
Position Type: Part-Time (Approx. 16-20 hours/week) *Remote option available
Compensation: $17.50/hour Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications. This position is not benefits eligible.
About the Role
St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a mission-driven, energetic, and relationship-oriented Marketing & Community Engagement Assistant to support the growth and visibility of our school, especially as we prepare for a major gym expansion initiative.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, building local partnerships, supporting community fundraising efforts, and bringing a story to life through marketing and social media.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Outreach
  • Represent St. Michael at local events, including Snohomish Chamber of Commerce luncheons
  • Attend networking meetings with Snohomish-area businesses (library meetups, local gatherings, etc.)
  • Build and maintain relationships with local business leaders and potential partners
  • Identify opportunities for sponsorships, collaborations, and community visibility
  • Help strengthen and expand St. Michael's community network and partnerships

Fundraising & Event Support
  • Assist with planning, promotion, and community engagement for school fundraisers including:
    • Color Run
    • Raffle
    • Auction
    • Angel Fund
  • Help generate creative ideas and marketing strategies to increase fundraiser participation and support
  • Support donor outreach, sponsorship engagement, and event visibility efforts

Marketing & Campaign Support
  • Assist in the marketing and storytelling of the St. Michael Gym Initiative
  • Support donor engagement efforts through visuals, messaging, and updates
  • Help execute school-wide campaigns (enrollment, events, fundraising)

Social Media & Content Creation
  • Create and schedule engaging posts for social media (Instagram, Facebook)
  • Capture photos/videos of school life, events, and student experiences
  • Help develop short-form video content (Reels, Stories, donor-facing clips)
  • Maintain a consistent and compelling brand voice aligned with the school mission

Qualifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable attending events and initiating conversations with community members
  • Basic experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Canva preferred)
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Creative thinker with enthusiasm for community-building and fundraising initiatives
  • Passion for education, community, and faith-based mission work is highly valued
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required

Schedule Expectations
  • Approximately 16-20 hours per week
  • Some daytime availability required for community events and meetings
  • Occasional evening or weekend events (flexible scheduling available)
