Job description

Part-time Field Supervisor of School Crossing Guards
Location: Central Marin County, CA
Ideal candidate would reside in San Rafael, Mill Valley or Fairfax.

ACMS is looking for a dedicated individual to join our leadership team in Central Marin County! Leadership is the heart of our mission, “Keeping Kids Safe”. The Leadership Team overseeing and managing their local School Crossing Guard programs, in this field-based position.
What we are looking for in our Leadership:
  • Be self-motivated and dependable.
  • Be a personable, friendly and passionate leader.
  • Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation and clean driving record.
  • Able to lift/ transport various items or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be available to work with crossing guards at their field assignments both before and after school.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
Responsibilities:
  • Reports to the Area Supervisor.
  • Must be familiar with all Company policies and procedures as outlined in Employee Handbook for School Crossing Guards and the Instruction Manual for Area Supervisors.
  • Conduct proper orientation, training, field instruction and ongoing safety review of employees.
  • Requires regular visits to assigned crossing guard locations throughout the area.
  • Responsible for observing crossing guards’ skills while they perform their crossing guard duties.
  • Completes and submits required administrative paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Monitors the day to day activities of Crossing Guards, helps coordinate schedules and staffing within specific geographic areas.
Requirements:
  • Must meet all requirements for a School Crossing Guard and be fully competent in performing guard duties.
  • Must demonstrate organizational skills sufficiently to manage assigned duties.
  • Must be self-motivated and dependable.
  • Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have computer skills adequate to create, save and manipulate documents, send/receive frequent email and access web-based information as necessary for efficient communication and record keeping.
  • Must have reliable transportation and maintain proof of current automobile insurance.
  • Must submit to and successfully complete fingerprinting and/or drug/alcohol screening prior to and/or during employment. Must maintain a record free of serious offenses.
  • Must monitor time worked to meet all legal requirements for rest breaks and meal periods. Any instance of being unable to meet these legal requirements must be reported to supervisor immediately.
This position often requires short response times to the job site so candidates residing in San Rafael, Mill Valley or Fairfax are preferred. This is a seasonal and part-time position that follows the school calendar — no work during summer, school breaks, holidays, or teacher workdays.
Compensation is $24.00 an hour, 5 hours a day, on school days only. Mileage reimbursement provided. This position is eligible for year-end bonus.
