Job description

The Maintenance Specialist makes minor repairs to the interior/exterior of buildings and facilities and maintains furniture and equipment, employing basic skills in plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical.

Essential Duties:

  • Minor Repairs to the interior/exterior of building.
  • Maintains furniture and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Rate of Pay: $14.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal equivalent of a high school diploma
  • Experience with building maintenance
  • Experience in repair and/or maintenance of equipment
  • Other job related education and/or experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of building maintenance experience
  • Valid drivers license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials and objects weighing up to 100 pounds, or heavier weights with the use of proper equipment
  • Must be able to work during different weather climates; to include hot/cold weather, rain, etc.
  • Read and comprehend printed materials i.e. schematics, layouts, etc.
  • Operate varied hand and power tools and equipment
  • Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform light to medium physical work
