Maintenance Manager
Since 1973, Taber Extrusions has been a leading manufacturer of aluminum extrusion-based products for OEMs in markets ranging from Military, Department of Defense, Aircraft/Aerospace, Marine/Shipbuilder, Boat Docks, Platforms, Decking, Motor Housing, Electronics, Heat Sinks, Automotive, Rail, and Structural Components. Taber is headquartered in Russellville, Arkansas and operates two manufacturing sites in Russellville and one manufacturing site located in Gulfport, Mississippi. The Company is segmented into five operating units; Extrusion, Cast House, Fabrication, Friction Stir Welding and Micro Extrusion. Taber has continued to make ongoing investments in their value-added capabilities by recently expanding their Russellville facility to house their new friction stir welder and new state of the art 10,000-ton press with 16" container designed for larger, complex profiles with tighter tolerances for the aerospace, defense, and heavy industrial customers.
Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager will lead the development, implementation and execution of the Maintenance Strategy for the facility. This includes involvement and leadership in developing the TPM environment. This position is responsible for directing, controlling and coordinating all phases of the plant's Maintenance Department.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and/or maintain an effective preventive & predictive maintenance program (including repair, modification and installation of equipment) in order to improve production efficiency and ensure optimum machine uptime availability.
  • Manage plant level capital projects in conjunction with the management team.
  • Supports the 8 TPM pillars with technical resources and coaching to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Coordinates the Effective Maintenance (EM) pillar resources to deliver reliable maintenance processes including: 5S, Visual Factory and spare parts inventories for all new and existing equipment as well as equipment modifications.
  • Proactively improve process functioning and strive for enhanced levels of efficiency
  • Review plant production equipment environment (e.g., technology, systems, quality, cost, efficiencies, yield) in order to recommend process improvements.
  • Synthesize data and identify problems through operational and financial analysis in order to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Act as an organizational change agent focused on driving operational growth and improving operating margin.
  • Ensure 5S compliance, create and manage overhaul schedules for sustained performance.
  • Develop and/or revise the existing PM Program.
  • Record and analyze plant equipment performance data using design and performance specifications in order to ensure optimum machine reliability.
  • Ensure Maintenance Department compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the selection, supervision, and development of department team members.
  • Develop a work environment within manufacturing that promotes trust, teamwork quality and safety.
  • Assign accountability, build teams, hire, develop, evaluate, train, coach and discipline with corrective action as needed.
  • Assist in the establishment, analysis, and submission of yearly departmental budgets.
  • Develop Root Cause strategies for the department reducing breakdown loss.
  • Assist and support Mechanics with expertise in equipment.
  • Coordinate OEM Equipment Assessments and deliver equipment improvements

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Applied Sciences preferred.
  • TPM based educational training a plus.
  • Minimum 5+ years as Maintenance Manager, Aluminum Extrusions preferred.
  • Prior experience with project management preferred.
  • CMMS - Computerized Maintenance Management System experience. PLEX experience is preferred.
  • CPMM- Certified Plant Maintenance Manager is preferred.
  • CMRP - Certified Maintenance and Reliability is preferred.
  • Experience leading TPM or Lean in a Mfg. environment
