P/T BUILDING SERVICE WORKER
CITY OF BARTLETT
Mayor's Office - City Hall Annex
PART TIME BUILDING SERVICE WORKER
ANNUAL SALARY RANGE $13.66
This is a part-time position with no benefits.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the entire interior of the assigned building(s).
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas including door rugs and mats.
  • Sweep, mop buff and wax (as needed appropriate) all non-carpeted floor surfaces in the building(s).
  • Clean and sanitize all restrooms, including toilets, urinals, skin basins and countertops; refill soap dispensers, refill paper towel dispensers, replace toilet paper, empty waste receptacles, clean and polish mirrors and all fixtures, clean ceramic tiles on all walls in restrooms.
  • Clean and sanitize employee break room/kitchen including sinks, countertops and appliances; stock with supplies and prepare coffee in the break room daily.
  • Clean interior (and exterior, as requested) glass surfaces such as windows, doors, etc.
  • Clean dust and sanitize all meeting rooms, offices, desks, work surfaces, counters, door handles, file cabinets, tables, office equipment, and other areas as assigned.
  • Empty all trash receptacles in all rooms of the building(s) daily and as needed.
  • May deliver inter-office mail between City departments, pick up and take mail to the U.S. Post Office, retrieve payments from the two outside payment drop boxes.
  • Check calendar daily for events of the day and ensure room are clean and prepared for scheduled events.
  • Set up rooms for scheduled meetings, events, activities, which may include setting up/taking down or rearranging tables and chairs, setting up a lectern, making coffee, picking up and arranging food/drinks on serving tables, etc.
  • Perform minor building repair work and make recommendations for repairs as needed.
  • Acquire and maintain a current inventory of cleaning, operating, restroom, kitchen, and paper supplies necessary for duties.
  • May operate City of Bartlett vehicles in various situations, including but nit limited to, mail deliveries, washing vehicles, special events, and running errands as requested.
  • Dust all windowsills, blinds, high and low moldings, baseboards, door and window casings.
  • Wipe picture frames, wall décor, vents and ducts and surrounding ceiling areas.
  • Perform other tasks or duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have at least one (1) years' experience as a custodian or building service worker.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must have knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential job duties.
  • Specific areas of education, training and experience:
  • Experience using buffing machines, mop, vacuum, broom and have basic knowledge of floor maintenance.
  • Skill in using general hand tools.
  • Basic knowledge of various cleaning products and the appropriate use of such products on various surfaces within an office building environment.
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid training/certification preferred but not required.
  • General knowledge of OSHA safely and health standards.

Special Requirements:
  • Be able to drive and have a valid driver's license, which must remain valid as a condition of continued employment, and have access to reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must pass a background and driver's license check as well as a physical exam, including a drug screen.
  • Bartlett resident preferred but not required.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule Monday - Friday, including some evening hours.
