Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The PT Trainer, Professional Development and Educational Support works to advance training and development across the organization by consulting with institutional stakeholders to develop, facilitate, coordinate training and development programs for the college, leading various professional development initiatives, and supporting operational initiatives within the Professional Development and Educational Support Department and Lone Star College-North Harris.
This is a temporary grant-funded position. Continuation of the position from one academic year to the next is dependent upon continued grant-funding
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Researches best practices to design creative, engaging, and effective training solutions for LSC-North Harris faculty and staff
  • Plans, schedules, and hosts various meetings/seminars/events, including site selection and preparation, marketing and training materials, and general support
  • Works closely with the Manager, PDES Department, and events planning to coordinate faculty and staff training, development, and engagement events
  • Design, develop, and deliver learning strategies and solutions that are performance-focused, effective, engaging, and innovative
  • Develops and facilitates professional development programs/initiatives in consultation with subject matter experts (SMEs), college departments, and divisions
  • Responsible for detailed project management for the development and delivery of high-quality courses and training
  • Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    • In-depth knowledge of desktop applications, including Office 365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat
    • College-level verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and promote new technology
    PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing, bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
    WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Associate degree or higher and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Experience working in higher education
    • Experience leading training and development seminars/workshops/programs or similar classroom teaching experience

    Salary
    Hourly Pay Rate is $27.14
