Lighthouse Academy Childcare CenterCook / Kitchen Help amp; Classroom Float

Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM

Position Summary

Lighthouse Academy is seeking a dependable, caring, and organized Cook/Kitchen Help amp; Classroom Float to join our childcare team. This position is responsible for preparing and serving lunch and snacks, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen, and assisting classrooms throughout the building by providing staff breaks and extra support as needed.

ResponsibilitiesKitchen amp; Meal Duties
  • Prepare and serve lunch and snacks for children and staff
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Wash dishes, clean kitchen equipment, and maintain kitchen cleanliness
  • Organize and stock kitchen supplies
  • Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs
  • Ensure allergy and dietary restrictions are followed carefully
Classroom Float Duties
  • Provide teacher breaks throughout the building
  • Assist classrooms with supervision and daily activities
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment for children
  • Support teachers during transitions, mealtimes, and nap/rest times
  • Interact positively with children, staff, and families
Qualifications
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Enjoys working with children in a childcare setting
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must pass required background checks
  • Previous childcare or kitchen experience preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Comfortable moving throughout the building and kitchen areas
