Job Summary
Familiarity with computers and other office equipment (e.g., printers and photocopiers). Familiarity with Internet browsers. Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Strong communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Maintain a flexible schedule to meet the needs of faculty and students. This position is part time, with a maximum of 19 hours per week. Hours may be flexible during workweek of Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, 8 am - to Noon based on department need. Pay: $15.00 an hour

Required Skills & Abilities
  • Provide assistance with technology and equipment, including but not limited to computers, photocopiers, scanners, printers, software (Microsoft Office and more), and eLearning systems.
  • Respond to directional and routine questions, both in person and over the telephone.
  • Assist patrons with accessing the NCTC Library Databases and perform limited searches for factual information.
  • Refer research and citation questions to the librarians. Refer faculty and staff questions to the librarians.
  • Keep track of supplies and alert librarians to shortages in a timely manner.
  • Assist with maintaining daily computer lab statistics.
  • Open and/or close the computer lab.
  • Enforce computer lab policies and rules and maintain a quiet and clean environment.
  • Make independent judgments in the absence of librarians and other assistants.
  • Other duties as required
