Job Description:

Busy small law firm with emphasis on Estate Planning, located in Oakland, seeks competent, outgoing, and personable part time (3 days weekly) legal assistant who can follow instructions, can multitask and who has at 2 years prior law firm experience, to assist with office and client responsibilities in our small Estate Planning/Trust/Probate practice.

Position involves assisting clients, answering phones, scheduling meetings,  communicating with courts as well as organizing client files, and dealing with incoming mail. Will also be responsible for assisting attorneys, returning client calls, filing, client correspondence, calendaring, billing etc. This is an extremely small and busy law firm and the ideal candidate will thrive in such an environment. Your ability to multi-task and keep to deadlines is critical as is attention to detail and the ability to time manage effectively.
Must be friendly, kind, detail oriented, personable and confident. You are technologically savvy and type at least 75 WPM.

Qualifications:
- Prior office experience preferred, at least 2 years
- Must be proficient with all modern office equipment such as scanners, fax machines, computers and phones, experience with electronic file management important
- Bi or multi lingual a plus, if you can speak more than one language please indicate in your cover letter which one and level of fluency.
- Professional attitude and demeanor
- Detail oriented and organized
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word and Outlook
- Ability to multi task and follow given directions without arguing with or challenging superiors.
- Resourcefulness and the ability to work independently and as a team
