Position : Lab Technician - Part time
Location : Columbus, NE
Duration : 12 Months Contract
Total Hours/week :40.00
Note: Part time 10-15 hours per week - between 8AM - 5PM.
Hours - Part time position
Hours - morning or afternoons - 10-15 hours minimum per week, minimum of 2 hours per attendance (flexible but need to complete the scheduled task)
Description:
GENERAL FUNCTION
• The Lab Technician will report to the Manufacturing Technology Innovation (MTI) Senior Packaging Engineer. The Technician will support the following work functions: perform inspections, assist in performing Experimental Work Orders, Engineering Studies and Process Development Work. The Associate will work closely with the MTI Packaging Associate Engineer.
Essential Functions:
• Perform visual inspections through a microscope or magnified viewer as necessary
• Perform measurements of blister thickness and seal width using: caliper &/or micrometer
• If computer experience, may enter data values into a spreadsheet.
• May be trained to use Mini Tab to analyze Data
• Will require training to MTI Packaging Lab procedures as applicable to the task requested.
• Procedures and Equipment include but are not limited to the following:
• Package Drop Testing
• Package Transportation simulator Testing
• Underwater Package Leak Testing
• Altitude Chamber Testing
• Package Burst Testing
• Peal Force Testing for Seal Strength
• Bench Top Sealing Operations
Safety:
• Participate fully to achieve the Lab safety goals. - Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Take responsibility for own safety.
• Perform proper lifting procedures while
• working with heavy objects. - Will hold themselves accountable to follow all safety policies & procedures
