Job description

We are seeking a part time Counselor (CSAC, LPC, LCSW) to join Master Center for Addiction Medicine. Become a member of our collaborative team of caring and compassionate professionals at Master Center for Addiction Medicine and you will be joining the field of comprehensive outpatient addiction medicine treatment, one of the fastest growing fields of medicine today.
Master Center for Addiction Medicine is a private, outpatient addiction medicine treatment center headquartered in Glen Allen, Virginia. We have 8 additional offices across Virginia. Our approach to addiction is comprehensive, evidence-based and individualized, drawing on every tool that has been proven effective: medical treatment, education, psychiatry, professional counseling, testing/monitoring and peer support services. Our aim is not just to treat patients but to heal them - by helping each one find his or her way to lifelong recovery.
This position works under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor. Responsibilities include include the administration of psychosocial assessments, providing psychoeducation groups, as well as individual and group therapy.
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Completing Psychosocial Assessments, Individualized Treatment Plans, progress notes and other necessary paperwork associates with managing patients.
  • Providing individual and group counseling using Evidence Based Practices.
  • Assisting patients with defining and achieving realistic goals.
  • Assist in the collection of Urinalysis Screenings
  • Provide Crisis Intervention as needed.
  • Ensuring Patient Confidentiality
  • Providing supportive counseling in conjunction with medical services.
  • Contributing to the ongoing assessment and treatment planning process through participation in reports, case reviews, and treatment team meetings.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned.

SKILLS AND BEHAVIORS:
  • Basic counseling intervention

  • Experience working in a medical office
  • Ability to use phones and computer software
  • Experience using EMRs
  • Hard-working, Honest and Compassionate
  • Experience with the addiction and substance abuse community

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • CSAC, LPC-R, LPC, LCSW, Supervisee of Social Work, LMFT, or LSATP, current and in good standing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Counselors shall be licensed or certified by the applicable Virginia health regulatory board or by a nationally recognized certification board or eligible for this license or certification.
  • CSAC, LPC-R, LPC, LCSW, Supervisee of Social Work, LMFT, or LSATP
  • Experience treating opiate-addicted patients
  • Experience treating co-occurring disorders
  • No legal impediments to serving in a licensed opiate treatment program
  • Must have a valid driver's license
