Staff Nurse - Lactation Specialist - Women and Children's Health - Days -Part time

At New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Women's Health nurses have created a supportive, compassionate environment for all phases of ante- through post-partum care. As a Baby-Friendly designated hospital, we are committed to promoting breastfeeding and providing evidence-based maternity care that supports optimal infant feeding practices. We proudly serve a diverse population of low-risk birthing women, offering personalized care that empowers families from the very beginning.

Here, mothers and babies start their journey with expert nurses at their side and the finest resources at their command. The Lactation Specialist plays a vital role in this journey, providing direct, effective, and comprehensive nursing care to patients and their significant others. This role also facilitates professional nursing practice through clinical expertise and teaching, acting as a preceptor for new staff and students. The Lactation Specialist will educate staff and patients, and support quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

This is a Part -time day shift position at New York-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Campus.
Hours: 12.5 hour shifts , 3 shifts in 2 weeks . Flexible start and end times . Weekend and Holiday Requirement

Preferred Criteria:

  • Experience as a Lactation Consultant or Specialist

  • Excellent communication skills, leadership, and teaching potential

Required Criteria:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

  • Current New York State License as a Registered Nurse (or willingness to obtain)

  • IBCLC Certification

  • Minimum of one year acute care RN experience in women's health or NICU

  • Previous lactation experience

  • BCLS certification
