Position Description
DNA Learning Center Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a world-renowned scientific research organization located on the North Shore of Long Island, is seeking a part-time Receptionist to join a small administrative team at the Dolan DNA Learning Center.
Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
โ€ข Answering phones
โ€ข Meeting and greeting teachers, students, and visitors
โ€ข Creating purchasing requisitions and work orders
โ€ข Handling registrations, data entry and filing
โ€ข Invoicing and collecting money from schools/ organizations
โ€ข Distributing department mail
โ€ข Assisting with emailing campaigns and other administrative projects
โ€ข Managing staff calendars
Position Requirements
EDUCATION: Associate's degree or equivalent experience
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Two years secretarial/administrative experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is imperative.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
