Job description

Quality Labor Management is seeking an Advanced Concrete Materials Specialist for a part-time, long-term opportunity supporting an important Florida state agency in Gainesville. This role offers up to 20 hours per week with a flexible Monday-through-Friday schedule during normal business hours, paid state holidays, and a very generous paid-time-off program.This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to build specialized experience in concrete materials, technical analysis, laboratory support, and document review while working alongside engineers and other technical professionals. It is also an excellent position for a college student or for someone who needs a flexible schedule to accommodate family responsibilities. The position is fully on-site in Gainesville and is not remote.

General Responsibilities

  • Build and improve dashboards using Power BI, Python, and Claude Code
  • Analyze data and trends and prepare summary tables, figures, and comparisons to support decision making
  • Work with engineers and subject matter experts to calculate indicators, identify outliers, and flag potential quality issues for further review
  • Support technical review efforts by gathering background documents, mix design data, test results, specifications, and prior correspondence
  • Assist with the development, review, and revision of concrete related specifications, materials manuals, and test methods
  • Prepare draft responses and redline revisions of technical documents
  • Assist with literature searches, data compilation, and review of draft research reports related to concrete materials and structural applications
  • Support responses to technical inquiries by gathering background information, analyzing data, and drafting summaries
  • Assist with concrete laboratory and field activities, including sample documentation, basic tests, and data entry
  • Perform other related duties to support the Concrete Section and State Materials Office as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, technical staff, and subject matter experts
  • Ability to use computers and standard office software for data review, document preparation, and communication
  • Ability to assist with laboratory and field activities, including sample documentation, basic testing, and data entry

Required Skills

  • Minimal coding experience with tools such as Power BI and Python.
