Position Details

  • Position: Part-Time Assistant Teacher
  • Location: Northampton Community College Child Care Center & Early Childhood Education Lab School - Bethlehem, PA (Reibman Hall Children's Center)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday with flexible split-shift opportunities available: 6:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Pay Rate: $15.00-$19.00 per hour based on education and experience

What You'll Do

As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for young children.

Responsibilities include:

Assisting with daily classroom routines and activities

Supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development

Maintaining active supervision and ensuring children's safety

Building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers

Helping prepare classroom materials and learning centers

Maintaining cleanliness and organization of classroom spaces

Collaborating professionally with teaching teams and administration

Participating in trainings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or GED

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Experience working with children preferred

Preferred

CDA, ECE coursework, or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

Experience in a NAEYC Accreditation Plus or Keystone STARS program
