Position Summary
As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing and supporting laboratory testing activities throughout all phases of the testing process, including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical procedures. You will help ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting of laboratory results while maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Receive, process, and verify patient specimens
  • Ensure proper specimen labeling, handling, storage, and preparation
  • Perform laboratory testing according to established procedures
  • Analyze and document quality control results
  • Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
  • Coordinate equipment service and repairs as needed
  • Monitor test performance and ensure accurate result reporting
  • Communicate critical laboratory results according to established protocols
  • Assist providers, clients, and patients with laboratory-related questions
  • Maintain laboratory records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities
  • Support daily laboratory operations to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional patient service

Qualifications
Required:
  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related laboratory field; or equivalent education and training meeting applicable regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field
  • Previous clinical laboratory experience

Schedule
This is a part-time position working Monday through Friday, late afternoons into the evenings.
