Job description

The ideal candidate must have reliable transportation and be flexible to work weekends and holidays, have excellent customer service skills, communications skills and a love of animals. Must be a team player, punctual and reliable. This is a physical job that will require restraining, handling, lifting and carrying patients that are large and small, as well as food and other heavy lifting.


Previous veterinary experience preferred, but not required.


Daily job details include, but are not limited to:

-Feeding, medicating, walking, cleaning & monitoring patients and their spaces

-Handling and properly/gently restraining large patients and nervous/anxious/upset patients

-Cleaning and tidiness of the kennel, front and back yards (poop scooping/picking up litter), the lobby & other areas of the hospital

-Bathing animals

-Assisting technicians with kennel patients or treatment needs as needed

-Keeping up with the kennel, kennel maintenance, kennel food, cleaning supplies and kennel inventory

-Organization of patients in the kennel; belongings, feeding instructions, medication instructions, etc.


This position schedule consists of:

  • Mondays - Thursdays from 1pm - 6pm (can start the shift at 2pm if needed)
  • Occassional Saturdays from 8:45am - 1:00pm
  • Saturdays from 5:00pm until 6:30pm (or when finished - while the business is closed)
  • Occassional Sundays from 9:00am until 10:30am (or when finished-while the business is closed)
  • Sundays from 5:00pm until 6:30pm (or when finished-while the business is closed)
  • Holiday shifts are on a rotating schedule with other kennel staff.

We are open to discuss a variation of this schedule, as well cross training into other departments within the practice.


Pay is based on experience, interview and salary requirements.
