Develop and deliver engaging lectures on applied probability topics
Create comprehensive course materials aligned with the curriculum
Design challenging assignments and projects that apply theoretical concepts to real-world engineering problems
Conduct fair and thorough assessments, including exams and quizzes
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students
Hold regular office hours to support student learning and address questions
Collaborate with other system science professors to ensure curriculum alignment and integration with other courses
Incorporate innovative teaching methodologies that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes

Requirements:

Required:

  • Ph.D. in Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in probability theory, stochastic processes, and their applications in engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the graduate level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using mathematical software packages (e.g., MATLAB, R, or Python) for probability simulations and analysis
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment

Preferred:

  • Industry experience applying probability theory in engineering contexts
  • Publication record in relevant peer-reviewed journals
  • Experience with online or hybrid course delivery
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary approaches in engineering education
