Video Production Specialist

This position is responsible for producing high-quality video content from concept through final delivery. Primary responsibilities include filming and editing Kennedy Lectures, interviews, and other video projects while ensuring professional production standards, technical excellence, and timely delivery. The role manages all phases of production, including on-site setup, video and audio capture, post-production editing, and media asset management.

Note: This is a part-time position 17.5 hours per week.

What you'll do in this position:

  • Film lectures, interviews, and other video productions, including camera setup, lighting, audio, and shot composition.
  • Edit video projects through all phases of post-production, including color correction, audio enhancement, graphics, and final export.
  • Organize, maintain, and archive video projects and media assets.
  • Deliver polished, publication-ready video content that meets production schedules.
  • Troubleshoot production equipment, software, and workflow issues during filming and editing.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate production schedules, project status, and resource needs.

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience operating professional video cameras and DSLR camera systems.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent video editing software.
  • Strong post-production editing skills, including audio and color correction.
  • Experience with video file management and digital asset organization.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet production deadlines.

Preferred

  • Experience producing educational, event, or interview-style video content.
  • Knowledge of professional audio, lighting, and production workflows.

Pay Grade: 51

Typical Starting Pay: $21.25 - $36.25

The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate's job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
