Job description

Who We Are
Advantage is redefining what it means to be a pharmacy for people with serious behavioral health conditions. We specialize in serving patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and related challenges—patients who are often overlooked by traditional healthcare systems. We provide advanced pharmacy services and wraparound care that ensure patients can access and stay on complex medications. We offer in-home and community-based injection support, help patients navigate insurance and prior authorizations, and work closely with providers to overcome barriers to treatment. By strengthening connections between patients, care teams, and support systems, we make it possible for people living with behavioral health challenges to achieve stability and long-term success.

Job Overview:

The Behavioral Health Pharmacist plays a critical, impact-driven role in improving access to behavioral health treatment by delivering and administering injections including long-acting injectable (LAI) medications to patients in their homes and designated clinic settings. Working within a defined territory, this role supports medication adherence, continuity of care, and improved patient outcomes for individuals living with serious mental health conditions.

This position requires clinical excellence, autonomy, strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and a commitment to patient-centered, community-based care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to assigned clinics within a defined territory to administer injections including long-acting injectable medications
  • Facilitate mobile injection visits at patients’ places of residence or unhoused encampments as needed and with appropriate clinical approval
  • Administer injectable medications in accordance with prescriber orders, collaborative practice agreements, and organizational protocols
  • Verify patient identity using at least two approved personal identifiers prior to medication administration
  • Administer medications using the Five Rights of Medication Administration
  • Provide patient education related to the medication, expected effects, and post-injection considerations within scope
  • Accurately document medication administration and submit all required clinical and operational documentation in accordance with AHCS guidelines
  • Coordinate with pharmacy operations to retrieve, transport, store, and return medications in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary care team, including clinical coordinators, prescribers, nurses, behavioral health clinicians, and pharmacy staff
  • Maintain proper hand hygiene and adhere to infection prevention and control standards
  • Uphold all state and federal regulations related to medication handling, administration, and patient privacy
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and within scope of pharmacy practice

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Washington Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Based in the Olympia regions
  • Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods within assigned territory
  • Demonstrated competency in administering intramuscular and subcutaneous injections (including long-acting injectables)
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Consistent application of standard precautions and infection prevention and control practices in alignment with CDC and organizational guidelines
  • Commitment to patient-centered, equitable, and compassionate care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience administering injections including long-acting injectable medications for behavioral health and other conditions such as HIV treatment and prevention conditions
  • Prior mobile, community-based, or ambulatory care experience

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time, typically requiring 20 hours per week

  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time
  • 100% Travel within assigned territory

  • Able to sit for long periods of time

Benefits:
