Job description

Don't respond to this job posting if you haven't driven a 24' box truck or larger before.
News Distribution Agency is seeking Box Truck Driver (Non-CDL). You will be responsible for safely operating a truck with a max capacity of 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).

The truck departs from and returns to Vancouver, WA. The New York Times publication is being transported daily (time-sensitive material). Run is from Vancouver, WA. to Kent, WA., returning with load to Portland immediately after the truck is loaded.

PAY: $192 per run.

HOURS:

Saturday run approx. 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday run hours are approximately 4:00pm to approx. 11:30pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a 24ft Box Truck
  • Load and unload cargo
  • Properly track and document activity log
  • Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
  • Inspect truck before and after trip
  •  
  • Qualifications:
  • MUST HAVE CLEAN DRIVING RECORD
  • MUST HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN DRIVING A 24' or larger BOX TRUCK
  • Class C driver's license
  • Must pass drug screening test. Note: Federal law directly prohibits interstate truck drivers from using any Schedule I drug—which includes marijuana.
  • Can lift 30 lbs. in the air and/or push a loaded pallet with a jack.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a current Medical Examiner's Certificate.
