The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS) is seeking an Auditor II to join our team. The position offers an excellent opportunity to learn, grow, and expand your current skills in the auditing field while helping improve compliance, internal controls, risk management, and efficiency within public programs. Reporting directly to the Internal Audit Director.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform audits, including: pre-audit planning, entrance conference, field work, report writing, exit conference, and follow-up.
  • Complete working papers in accordance with audit standards and agency guidelines to effectively communicate audit results.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to conduct assurance and advisory audit engagements.
  • Comply with Global Internal Audit Standards and ethical practices of internal auditing.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of the Global Internal Audit Standards.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and /or procedures.
  • Frequent in-state travel, including occasional overnight accommodations, with potential travel up to 50%.
  • Be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Be able to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a business field, or four years of equivalent professional experience in accounting, finance, or auditing (or an equivalent combination of education and experience, such as an Associate's degree plus two years of relevant experience).
  • Familiarity with data analytics.
  • Public sector work experience.
  • Experience leading audit engagements.
  • Preference may be given to those with a relevant certification (in accounting, auditing, or fraud).
