Position Mission

As a key contributor to the mission of FOCUS and the FOCUS Mission Foundation, the Senior Grants Manager plays a vital role in winning significant grant program funding in this exciting new area of development at the Focus Mission Foundation. The Senior Manager is a proficient writer who can collaborate with senior leaders to procure a deep knowledge of FOCUS programs and initiatives to develop grant request narratives that align FOCUS initiatives with grant funder goals. The Senior Manager is responsible for maintaining the grant development and submission process according to set deadlines. This individual plays an integral role in the cultivation and stewardship of large foundation grants requiring a high level of collaboration with program leaders. This person strives to live out the cultural virtues of the organization with joyful sacrifice and, in doing so, will contribute in a way that helps the entire organization achieve even greater success.

Position Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Senior Director, serve as the lead writer on grant request narratives and required content for grant request submissions.
  • Coordinate with FOCUS departments to develop content and winning case statements that present catalytic mission programming opportunities that fulfill the Great Commission and by which new foundations can partner with FOCUS/FMF to achieve shared goals.
  • Create timelines and templates for pre- and post-grant reporting needs and work with internal project leads to coordinate timely project outcome reports, including necessary project budget reports and grant funding use reports.
  • Satisfy all other reporting requirements unique to each foundation through grant portals, emails, and/or mail content.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and participate in key planning and milestone meetings.
  • Develop and maintain approved core program area templates for marketing funders.
  • Attend meetings with grant officers and leaders as necessary.
  • Contribute to a shared process for collecting internal project metrics for grant funds.
  • Oversee grant-writing contract work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A practicing Catholic or Christian in good standing with the Catholic Church. There is no other background, qualification, or experience that can substitute for this requirement
  • Undergraduate degree and experience in grant writing preferred
  • Preferred knowledge of the Catholic Church and The FOCUS Little Way of Evangelization
  • Proficient writer and storyteller with an ability to review grant requirements and translate FOCUS projects into grant funder formats
  • Excellent listener with the ability to develop grant narratives based on the project leader’s vision and shared ideas
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, and project management tools
  • Proficiency in professional communications/ business writing
  • Open to learning new tools for grant management and attending professional development sessions and conferences

Compensation & Benefits

For this role, we anticipate paying $57,750 - $70,500/year. This range is an estimate. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the provided range and will be adjusted based on various factors including qualifications, experience, abilities, geographic location, and duties.
