Job description

About YAYOE:

Yeshiva Aharon Yaakov Ohr Eliyahu (YAYOE) is a private, family-oriented, and fully accredited school serving students from Pre-Nursery through Grade 8 in the heart of Los Angeles. Rooted in the values and traditions of Torah, our educational philosophy focuses on whole-student learning, blending academic excellence with character development and spiritual growth.

Our dual curriculum integrates both General Studies and Torah Studies, allowing students to engage in a well-rounded, meaningful education that fosters intellectual, emotional, social, and moral development. With small class sizes and a supportive environment, we ensure that every student receives the attention and guidance they need to reach their full potential.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Lead Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a part-time position designed to support our dual curriculum structure, with teaching responsibilities focused on General Studies. The teacher will create engaging and differentiated lessons that foster critical thinking, creativity, and academic excellence.

The ideal candidate will lead a nurturing, intellectually stimulating classroom environment and align with YAYOE’s educational philosophy and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement engaging, purposeful, and collaborative learning experiences.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

  • Communicate student progress clearly and consistently with parents and students.

  • Prepare detailed report cards and formal progress updates as scheduled.

  • Maintain an organized and welcoming classroom environment conducive to learning.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across both General and Torah Studies to support the dual curriculum.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.

  • Fulfill supervisory duties as assigned by the administration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) required; teaching credential preferred but not required.

  • A minimum of 2 years of successful lead teaching experience preferred.

  • Strong classroom management and pedagogical skills.

  • A solid background in teaching math, literature, and the writing process is a plus.

  • Growth-minded, responsible, respectful, and self-directed professional demeanor.

  • A commitment to fostering both academic excellence and personal growth in alignment with the school’s values.

Why Join YAYOE?

  • Supportive dual curriculum that integrates both academic and Torah learning.

  • Small class sizes for more personalized instruction.

  • Collaborative, family-oriented, and nurturing school community.

  • Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.

To Apply:
Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your teaching experience, educational philosophy, and why you believe you would be a good fit for YAYOE.

We look forward to welcoming a dedicated educator who shares our passion for student growth, academic excellence, and values-driven learning.
