Job description

St. John Vianney High School is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging educator to work with students in an after-school gifted enrichment program. This unique role combines facilitating hands-on enrichment experiences with supporting students as they work through individualized academic lessons in a small-group setting. This educator would be representing St. John Vianney High School, and our approach to challenging students while providing the support they need to be successful.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate engaging, project-based enrichment activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.
  • Guide students through hands-on learning experiences in areas such as STEM, history, innovation, leadership, and creative projects.
  • Supervise and support students as they work independently on individualized academic lessons and enrichment coursework.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating learning environment.
  • Monitor student engagement and provide encouragement, assistance, and feedback as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with program leadership regarding student progress, participation, and program needs.
  • Collaborate to prepare materials and activities for weekly sessions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; current teachers, retired educators, graduate students, and professionals with experience working with children are encouraged to apply.
  • Preferred experience: teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or working with gifted, advanced, or highly motivated students.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
