Job description

Description
Arrow Dental is looking to hire a part-time Dental Hygienist. This position is responsible for promoting dental health in a medical office setting by completing dental screening, radiographs, charting conditions of decay and disease, caries risk assessments, Oral hygiene instructions, nutritional counseling, and preventive services such as sealants, fluoride varnish and SDF. Performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act. This position will also require the ability to connect patients to resources for coordination of care by way of insurance verification and patient assignment.
This position will be part-time one day a week in the Hillsboro area. Hours for this position are 7:30am-5:30pm.
Pay Range:
$46.29 to $58.33 per hour. Depending on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
  2. Select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits by evaluating patient's oral health.
  3. Complete oral health screening, periodontal charting and takes radiographs.
  4. Apply fluoride and other cavity-preventing agents as necessary.
  5. Help direct patient to their appropriate dental home when dental urgencies are present.
  6. Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions, as well as nutritional counseling.
  7. Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs and dental histories; charting in patient records.
  8. Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  9. Maintain safe and clean working environment; complies with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  10. Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols.
  11. Ensure operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follows manufacturer's instructions; maintains equipment inventories.
  12. Maintain hygiene supplies inventory; place orders for supplies; verify receipt of supplies.
  13. Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  14. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Position Proficiency Requirements:
  1. Registered Dental Hygienist/Expanded Practice with an active Oregon license.
  2. Follows ADHA Professional Code of Ethics.
  3. Dental practice management software experience helpful.
  4. BLS for Healthcare Providers.
  5. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced clinic.
  6. Digital radiography experience.
  7. Excellent reading, oral, and written communications skills.
  8. Ability to interact professionally, patiently, and courteously.
  9. Good problem-solving skills and decision-making skills.
  10. Ability to speak a second language helpful.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and project a professional business image.
  12. Ability to come to work on time and on a daily basis.
