Job Summary
The Resource Center Transport Dispatcher role supports hospital operations by coordinating patient transport and environmental services (EVS) while also providing occasional direct transport assistance as workload requires. This position functions as a centralized communication hub, managing high-volume incoming communications, dispatching tasks, coordinating specialty beds and equipment, supporting scheduling and daily operations, and ensuring efficient patient flow while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining safety and confidentiality standards.
Essential Functions
  • Answer and manage high volume phone lines and other devices pertaining to the position in a timely professional manner
  • Dispatch EVS cleaning requests
  • Coordinate real-time breaks and lunch coverage to maintain staffing levels
  • Coordinate and order specialty beds
  • Assign, track and communicate Transport and EVS tasks
  • Requires assisting with transporting patients and equipment while ensuring proper identification for patients, safety and clear communication with the Nursing team.
  • Efficiently dispatch and continuously coordinate transport requests.
  • Provide professional customer service at all times
Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Patient Transport 90 Days OR

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Patient Transport 90 Days

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree in Facilities, Criminal Justice, Security, Public Administration, Emergency Management or equivalent

  • 2 years of relevant experience Security, Emergency, Medical, or Facilities Dispatch Communication experience or two combined years of customer service, call center, or dispatching experience

  • 1 year of relevant experience experience with Microsoft Office

  • 1 year of relevant experience working knowledge of security systems technology (video management, access control, and radio communications system)

  • 1 year of relevant experience Emergency Telecommunicator Certification (ETC)
